In 1966 Mr. Smith joined the family business, Richard B. Smith as the youngest person licensed to practice real estate in the State of Idaho. Four years later he became Idaho's youngest broker, and in 1974 took over operations and management and later purchased controlling interest. Mr. Smith is presently the CEO of Windermere Real Estate/Richard B. Smith, Inc. In addition to brokering, Mr. Smith became involved with land development in 1977. Mr. Smith was responsible for acquisition, zoning, marketing and financing. Developments include single family subdivisions such as Sages Acres, Collister Farms, Jordan's Landing and most notably Highlands Hackberry, as well as multi-family and mobile home parks.
